چکیده

Aim of this study was to evaluate an extracranial blood flow in young women with low blood pressure. Two groups of subjects reported in this study were selected from 1,264 women aged from 18 to 35 years: 69 women with low systolic blood pressure SBP (61-99 mmHg) and 35 women with normal SBP (120-129 mmHg). SBP was measured and Doppler sonography study of the right common carotid artery was performed. The study revealed a higher mean blood flow velocity and the level of peripheral resistance in the common carotid artery in young women with low SBP (= 99 mmHg) when compared with normotonic women (SBP 120129 mmHg). These signs should be considered as a compensatory mechanism that preserves an adequate blood flow of the brain only at a young age.

Measuring the Nitroglycerine-Induced Vasodilation in Carotid Arteries

Introduction: Nitroglycerin is a fast-acting drug that rapidly dilates coronary arteries and thus increases blood flow to these vessels, and increases the blood flow through the lateral vessels to low blood areas. It also reduces both end diastolic pressure and volume of the left ventricular. However, the effect of nitroglycerin on the circulation hemodynamic is not known. Caro...

Presentation of a Non-invasive Method of Estimating Arterial Stiffness by Modeling Blood Flow and Arterial Wall Based on the Determination of Elastic Module of Arterial Wall

Introduction: Arterial stiffness is an important predictor of cardiovascular risk. Several indices have been  introduced to estimate the arterial stiffness based on the changes in the brachial blood pressure. Since the  substitution  of  the  blood  pressure  changes  in  the  central  arteries  such  as  carotid  with  the  blood  pressure  changes in the brachial results in error in the blood...

Vibration Analysis of Carotid Arteries Conveying Non-Newtonian Blood Flow Surrounding by Tissues

The high blood rate that often occurs in arteries may play a role in artery failure and tortuosity which leads to blackouts, transitory ischemic attacks and other diseases. However, vibration and instability analysis of carotid arteries are lacking. The objective of this study is to investigate the vibration and instability of the carotid arteries conveying blood under axial tension with surrou...

Objective: Assuming that cardiac rehabilitation and exercise significantly reduces mortality rate in coronary artery disease and has an important role in secondary prevention, the purpose of this study is to assess the effects of strength training and cardiac rehabilitation programs on biomechanical parameters of blood flow velocity and blood flow rate and these relationships with the brachial ...

برآورد سرعت موج پالس با استفاده از پارامترهای شریانی استخراج شده از تصاویر فراصوتی کاروتید

Background & Objective : Several indices have been introduced to estimate arterial stiffness that based on changes in brachial blood pressure. But because of the error resulted by the substitution of brachial blood pressure instead of the other central arteries, such as carotid, it will be very important to present elastic parameter based on the mechanical models without any emphasis on brach...
